Sam Corbin
Drawing inspiration from personal experience, Sam Corbin's music isn't quite Folk, or Blues, nor is it Country, nor Rock & Roll. It's simply his own. His influences range from Bob Dylan to John Prine, The Band to Muddy Waters, and perhaps a slight obsession with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Sam started playing guitar at 16, and shortly after graduating high school he joined a band, playing shows at local bars and coffee shops. Over the years music became his passion, his lifestyle, and his outlet for creativity. It has taken him on the road to music festivals and theatres, radio stations and television, listening rooms, and smoky bars. He has traveled and performed in many states across the East Coast, Midwest, and the South. In 2010, Sam joined the Earthwork Music Collective, a group of musicians working together to build community and self-awareness through the art of music in the state of Michigan and beyond.
You can catch Sam playing in several configurations: a solo acoustic musician, a duo with Lansing-based songwriter, Jen Sygit, and occasionally a member of their band The Lincoln County Process. More recently, Sam has been working on his new Electric Blues/Americana project with Ann Arbor native Billy Harrington, and together they plan to release an EP in the summer of 2012.
