Fun de-compositions inviting children and families to explore interdependence through the wonders of compost, the importance of bees, decomposers, environmental justice, and mindful breathing. All while reminding listeners that they belong, they are important, and they are loved.
Singer, songwriter, educator, and social worker Joe Reilly takes children and families on an ecological musical adventure in this fun and educational album. After several years of songwriting and working with students from Wines and Northside Elementary schools in Ann Arbor and The James and Grace Lee Boggs School in Detroit, Joe offers this collection of songs as a follow up to his 2016 release, The Circle, Community Songs for Kids of All Ages.
Joe enlisted the musical support of many friends, or Community Gardeners as he calls them; John Driscoll, Lori Fithian, Chris Good, Clara Hardie, Marion Hayden, Hearth and Hymn (Samantha Cooper and Elisabeth Pixley-Fink), Billy King, Marx Family Band, Gayelynn McKinney, Luisa Ponvert, Allison Radell, Mary Jo Reilly, David Reilly, Marcia Lee, en, Michi, and Meiko Sawyer Lee, Lesley-Anne Stone, and Mark Stone.
Seeds is Joe’s 4th children’s album and 9th album overall.
